It's on. Within the club competition to see who can throw down the most climbs by the end of the season. Climb nights are not restricted to wednesday nights; any night you go with at least one other club member counts. Post how many you do in this thread, and we'll keep a running tally and delete your post as it's added to keep things as unconfusing as possible. I'm thinking that next week we should get a polka-dot 'jersey' that gets shared around for the stage (aka group ride) leader. If you don't want in on this, no big deal -keep coming out for fitness/training purposes though! I would suggest that you make it a 'biggest improvement' award instead. Or at least add this component. Given that the range of abilities includes newbies to elite riders, the newbies dont have a chance of winning this. Which arguably is the nature of any competition. However, in order to include the flock of new faces there has to be some incentive. Schedule 5 hill climb sessions, have riders submit their total after every session. At the end, the greatest improvement (the purpose of these sessions) wins something. Rahim's a smart guy. Lets do this. PS ladies, your overall totals/ leader will be separate, so post up! is this an all time tally or a record for climbs in one day? Im willing to propose a challenge for 75 climbs in a row. I've never seen this hill but im willing to bet it cant be that horrible.

Idea!
Maximize your training time potential by practicing off camber corners when riding back DOWN the hill.
If anyone has pilons or red flags or anything, setting up a slalom course would do wonders for cornering confidence and skillZ!

Josh, I have some soft ultimate frizbee pylons in the basement Google Earth claims that the elevation from the baseball diamond to the top of the hill is about 13m but I don't know how accurate that is.

I'm all about this initiative, if we are smooth through singletrack we're conserving energy for the doubletrack and can throw the demoralizing jump on the bad guys as soon as the doubletrack comes

If I, an amateur cyclist, can do it, you can too! DO IT DO IT DO IT! You don't *have* to have your overall totals separate just because you're female. Rachel, Sam, Ali, Steph: step it up. I *know* you can do it. To any rookie females out there, I was a rookie once too, you can kick ass if you want to!

There's a nice looking zig-zag worn down the hill now from the cx races on Sunday. I haven't ridden it, but thinking it might work for cornering practice...?
