Think 4 cross. 300 m double track loop, 4 riders at a time, 3 laps. Fastest two go on from each start until you have a winner. Crazy fun, kinda intense.

I need to work on my "technical skills".. gonna be doing some riding at Twin Ponds though if anyone's down! stu quit being a douche... race and man up, we need a better reason than that from our fastest racer here Count me in spectating and possibly marshalling, it would be nice to bring a bike too but I can't race

If anyone's going for Sunday only, I have room for 4 people and 3 bikes.

I too am in for the XC on Sunday. I have an event on Saturday that I am required for. I have messaged Andrew regarding a ride, but if that will not work, is anyone else able to drive me and my bike? E-mail me, if so. So stoked!

I am planning on racing both days. I am getting a ride to the race with my parents because my bike is currently at home. I do not know if I am sleeping over yet... I might go just go home at night and sleep in my comfortable bed

Are you going up saturday and are you full? for those who haven't had the awesome experience that is carpooling with UGCers to a race: don't worry about securing a specific spot with a vehicle (unless you need to leave on a different day/time than everyone else) - just post up here that you need a ride, and the admins will keep track (see first post of the thread) of the car spot:passenger ratio and bike rack:bike ratio. then we all meet at a designated point (in this case, on saturday morning), throw our stuff in the cars and head out! woooo i'm stoked pumped for this weekend!!!!

flav: I hope Sam's post answers the second half of your question. To answer the first half of your question, I am indeed headed up on Saturday with the rest of the club.

More girls! More girls!More girls! More girls!More girls! More girls!More girls! More girls!
Points work by top three in each category... aka 3 womens A, 3 womens B.. So far were at 5 girls. Ladies this weekend is going to be sooooo much fun you really dont want to miss it.
Also, more guys! Because the more Guelph riders we have, the more awesome we are. Don't be shy, come race! It's as relaxed or as competitive as you make it, so there literally is something for everyone.

Question for you all... what do you all think the trails at Mansfield are going to be like, based on all this crazy rain?! Do trails dry out in 2 days, or would it be advisable to hunt down mud tires?

alright I'm in I would love a ride for me and my bike if possible but can find my own if needed. I'll already be in Orangeville saturday morning (which is halfway there) but am coming back to Guelph on sunday, so I can borrow my mom's car to get to mansfield for the weekend but it would be really convenient if I didn't have to get her to drive me back to guelph. BUT i did notice that currently the # of spots and people match up so yeah, if anyone else was going to drive lemme know

Mansfield is fairly sandy so I don't think it will be too bad after the rain... @rach if you're worried you can borrow my mud tires for the season so you don't have to cough up for a pair, I'll bring them with me tomorrow morning @sammy your pumped made me pumped and then I fist pumped the air and so it too is now pumped

I'm not sure how well the Jones XR's clear mud, it wouldn't hurt to have something with more spaced out lugs.

simon - I checked that map link you posted, and I think you got the wrong Mansfield. The one on your map is near the Quebec border, significantly further than I recall.

I was racing there last weekend and after a whole night of rain I used mud tires and really regretted it. There were no wet spots, it just made the trails a damp sand as opposed to a dry loose sand. If it matters at all, I'll be running a Stans raven rear and a Kenda SB8 up front on my 29er, and even with rain the night before I wouldn't be worried at all

Inara, glad to hear you're coming this weekend! If you could get a lift to Mansfield on Saturday, I'm relatively sure there will be extra spots to come home on sunday: Andrew, and Eric seem to be driving up for Sunday only. As for Saturday... Can anyone listed as having their "own ride" offer a spot? and/or would any of the drivers be willing to have an extra person from Orangeville to mansfield? ps. Thanks for the tire advice guys

I can no longer make it up for Saturday, but I'll be there on Sunday for sure.
Sammy, Anton's dropping off a derailleur at my house that's for you. I'll bring it up with me on Sunday.

rachel - Do you mean go to Orangeville, pick some one up, then continue to Mansfield? I would be willing to do so if I have a spot open in the van. I would then just need the address of where I'm going in Orangeville before Mansfield. Also, do we have a designated meeting spot and time before leaving Saturday?

Going to pre-empt this one to make sure everyone gets the 'memo' in good time: (see first, updated, post in this thread as usual for any updates)
Meet at 7:30am in the Tim Horton's parking lot on Stone road, by the Dairy queen. As soon as drivers and riders are there, start packing so we can get this awesome show on the road! First races are at 11am.
Also very important: Bring cash to pay your driver gas money! We couldn't do these races without them.
