Are you looking at putting a team together for this?
Heres some non-linked facts:
-Teams of 6 people -Everyone rides for 10 minutes.. or 5 and you switch a bunch of times -Everyone has to raise minimum $50 or $300 combined for the team -Money raised supports childhood cancers -Happens in the atrium of the science building
I don't think we had a team in this last year, but we did a couple of years ago. There are prizes for the teams with: -Highest combined distance -Most team spirit -Most fundraising/team -Best team costume -Highest fundraising male/female
If enough people are interested, I'd be down for being on a UGC team, however we would HAVE TO win the highest combined distance and most spirit categories. As in capes, cowbells, the whole 9 yards...

I would love to do this, I rode across BC for teens with cancer, so this looks like more fun and less painful! I'm not too sure if I'm down for the cowbell part though....

Cowbell is an essential element of UGC riding, regardless the style, method, or reason. If we're putting together a team, I would be interested.

If you need motivation to sign up, the Coast-to-Coast Foundation Against Cancer gives 100% of funds raised to kids and teens with cancer! So every penny you donate is going to them...this year, they are giving the money to summer camps for child cancer patients. I'd join a UGC team but I'm already on one...but I hope you guys get one together!!!

If you need more motivation to sign up, Sam is riding for a rival group! Go out and get her!

I would potentially be interested. They came to Mayfield when I was there and it was a ton of fun! The costume / team spirit part of it is hilarious

sam. out. now. -Money raised supports childhood cancers ^i've always found this very bizarre. we're fighting a whole bunch of other cancers, and then we support childhood cancers? i mean don't get me wrong, sure we need to thin the population...but wouldn't it make more sense to support elderly cancers??

so, can we actually make a team?

clearly. i don't know where that ship came from, but I hope that it gets to where its going safely. Assuming it's a pirate ship, it will be full of rum. With Mo-ginge as the captain and me as first mate, you can be sure that ship will swashbuckle, plunder, and pillage ruthlessly. NO one, anywhere is safe. @ Kaylynn, (and everyone else) we need at least two more people and everyones gotta commit to raising $50. Up for the challenge?

50 dollars is nothing to raise! I'm in.

if $50 is nothing, how about $100? I'm not cute, people wouldn't hand me money...

cancer is cancer bro. There are other ways to thin a population, don't worry about that. Like multiple concussions?

That's not funny. Concussions suck.
If somebody says we have a team, I will raise more than $50...If just put my hair in pigtails I could pass for 12, people always give money to kids.

When is this happening? I did it last year with a team of random people and had a good time So if anyone is interested in doing this, though I am wildly out of shape atm, I would definitely be down!

"you know your stuff too", kaylynn's post from that other thread to which i also just responded. ...look i'm all for raising money, but surely that's just crossing the line. also, Simon's posts are f'ng righteous.

I can't tell how many people are committed yet, but if you need one more, I'll take this opportunity to rip it in support of... counter cancer efforts!?! (did i get it right?)
Like Simon said we HAVE TO win the highest combined distance!!!

Like Simon said we HAVE TO win the highest combined distance!!! its not power to weight normalized so the lighter you are the more of a disadvantage youre at.

Also just to note, we are actually supporting kids and teens with cancer, because the money is going to family programs and camps. So we are not supporting cancer or counter cancer efforts.

I just had something come up that could interfere. Can we double check on numbers and times? I can still plausibly participate if truly needed.
