Hey all,
In an effort to make money over the winter I will be offering my bike skills in return for money.
For 25$ I will rebuild and change your fork oil for you. I have 4 years shop experience. I have overhauled Marzocchi, Manitou and Rock Shox forks in the past.
This procedure typically costs 75$+ at most bike shops. So I'm offering my services for cheap!
Your 25$ covers the cost of fork oil/grease and the labor.
Most manufacturers reccomend an oil change or rebuild once a year to prevent deterioration of internals. Normally damping performance deterioration isn't noticed because it occurs at such a gradual rate, but an oil change can breath new life into a fork.
If interested email me or post here.
Turnover for forks is one week.
Cheers, Aaron
**NEW**
I also do hub rebuilds if you need that done. 15$.

Hey Aaron, I have a couple of questions....
Do you have any experience with Fox Forks? Can you replace the seals if I bring them to you??
Do you use synthetic fork oil?
Thanks Steve

I have never worked on a Fox. However, the 02, 03 , 04 Fox Float R's and Vanillas are very simple designs (two bolts holding on to the lowers, one damping side/one spring side) Identical to the manitou setups. For the wiper change, you are referring to the wiper seals and foam ring correct?
For Manitous, i use synthetic motor oil for the semi bath (same as the stock motorex stuff) and finish line 5 wt for the damper.
For Rock Shox I use finish line, oil weight depends on the forks.
For Marzocchis, I use Golden Spectro, ( motorcycle fork oil, same stuff marzocchi uses at the factory)
For Fox, I'd use fox branded oil, as Ive never worked on one before.
Cheers, Aaron

You can buy evil genius seals from manitou, those are the ones they started putting instead of fork boots in 2003. The evil genius seals will cost 60-70$ at least though. Your best bet is just to get some lizard skin fork boots.
Keep in mind that all forks have wiper seals..your xvert has wiper seals, just lesser quality ones.

Sounds good Aaron, I'll definately get back to you on that. Yes, I have the seals and the foam rings for the Fox. The other forks I have are a 888 and a DJ1.
Joel, the evil seals are the best. I know Manitou were having issues with their seals and now use Evil seals as a stock set up on their new forks.

I just popped open a 1year old fork today and the oil was black as night. This could be YOUR fork...
