Hi everyone! My name is Alana, I started doing triathlons about 8 years ago and started racing road around the same time; I now coach the youth group in my cycling club at home. I also just got a mountain bike (in the last month) and I am still trying to learn the tricks of the trade and hoping to explore some wicked trails. I am looking forward to some awesome training rides and hopefully get some racing in this year!

Hi, my name is Joe Schadenberg and I am entering my second year in Biological Sciences. This past summer, I biked approximately 50km a week for work, and I grew to enjoy it! I am looking to do some trail and road rides and meet other cyclists at UofG

Hi my name is Bianca and I'm first year in the BAS program. I've always liked biking. It was always my mode of commute whether I was doing groceries, going to the library or any other shopping or for leisure. I have never professionally biked but I'm hoping to learn a few things but what I'm really looking forward to is discovering and exploring the trails in Guelph as I do not know the area very well. Hoping to catch up with the rest of you guys ( both literally and figuratively)!!

I like to ride XC 29er's and have a GT Karakoram up in Guelph with me. Iv been in a cross country race at wildwood conservation when they openend their bike trails but am super new to the race scene, I'v just been riding for fun. I hope to get out a few times while the weather is good!

Hi Everyone,
I'm Sarah! I started racing both road and mtb back in 07,08,09 then didn't touch my bike until May this year! I'm now racing senior expert in the mtb OCups, and hoping to eventually move up to elite one day! I'm transferring to Guelph from the University of Winnipeg, and super stoked to start racing UCups with everyone!

Hey guys,
My name is Emily and I'm in my final year at Guelph. Over the past few summers, I've worked in the east industrial areas of Guelph, and living downtown, I've been able to bike to work every single day (40 mins/day). I've developed a love for riding and now use it as my main means of transportation. I'm looking forward to exploring some trails and roadsides with you guys!

hello everyone, my name is Dee, I joined last year hoping to do a lot of riding but an out of commission bike made that super difficult. I am also a commuter to the university so sometimes the ride times don't mesh well. However, I hope to do the races this season and learn as much as I can about mountain biking. I also have a road bike that I hope to start using more.
looking foreword to it all. Cheers dEe

My name is Jennie and I'm originally from Kenora, ON. I am an English Masters student returning this fall to finish my thesis. I've actually wanted to join ever since I was in first year (Guelph alumni - whoo!) but was always too busy with the varsity xc ski team. I have some extra time now and I'm excited to have some biking buddies! I've done quite a bit of road biking (great cross-training!), although mostly on my own. I've only done a bit of mountain biking but I'm super keen to get out more and gain some experience! Not sure if I'll race but my mind is definitely open. Can't wait to meet everyone

Hello everybody!
I am a relatively new rider, making this post because I've never joined a club in my life in all my years here, but I do love to bike. Currently, I'm on some old beater with a heavy steel frame and flat handlebars and a terrible gearshift and big ugly tires, but I'm hoping to get a road bike sometime. I cycle around 250km a week, would love to get into any sort of ride, competitive or not (hopefully I can get a new bike sometime...)
Really, I'm just an amateur who has no idea what to do and is looking for a helpful senior with a cool nickname (Guelph's Peak Climber... Gryphon of the Mountains... Notorious Flat Crawler of Stone Road)to take me under their wing and teach me their ways until I become one of the best cyclists in Canada. Prefer it if you had a rival who would beat us early on and give us the inspiration to train hard and eventually we would beat him in the actual big race (where, at the end, it turns out he was a good guy all along). Or something along those lines.
Looking forward to it!

Hey guys, I'm Taylor! I started my undergrad in Guelph in 2010, moved to Calgary for a couple years to pursue short track speed skating (which I've recently retired from) and now I'm back in Guelph and planning on finishing my undergrad in Honours Science here. I've done a lot of road biking for cross training in the past and I really enjoyed it, although I still haven't really gotten into mountain biking. Maybe one day! Anyways, it was nice to meet a couple of you on Sunday's ride and I am really looking forward to doing some riding with you all!

hi! i'm mara, i'm a german exchange student spending my fall semester here in guelph! i started mountainbiking 3 years ago and go out 2-3 times a week during spring-fall and I usually do one or two bigger mountainbike tours (3-6 days) per year. i'm not a racer, i rather try to improve my skills on rocky, muddy, rooty, slippery trails! yay! both due to baggage restrictions and because i was not sure to find a mtb group here, i didn't bring any bikewear... i don't want to spend a lot of money, since i have really good equipment back home. so if anyone has a second bike that is not currently used, or a helmet, it would be great if i could borrow it from time to time. I’m 1,70m or 5-6 feet tall and full suspension would be awesome. or does anyone know a cheap place for mtb rental? i’m looking forward to any kind of help!

Hey,
My name's Ben, I mostly do road rides but my mountain bike will be in town very soon! I cycle only for fun but wouldn't mind trying out some of the races. If there are any tour-cyclists in the house send me a message and we can trade war stories, I'd love to go on a tour with a group sometime. I've just been on my first solo-tour at the end of August from Newmarket to Tobermory, and it was a fantastic time. I'm going to chase that feeling and head up to Halifax mid-summer 2015, if anyone would be interested in a 3 week cycling trip. Anyway this community already seems really friendly and I cant wait to get out riding with you all! Thanks for the burgers at last nights BBQ, cyclists know how to party.

Hi everyone,
My name is Irene. I just started my Masters at Guelph and am new to the area. I would love to explore Guelph and the surrounding area via bike. I used to commute to school on a tiny mountain bike, and recently upgraded to a road bike. I'm excited to ride my road bike more and meet some new people!

Hey everyone, my name is Alex I'm just starting graduate studies in the plant ag department. I've wanted to join the club for a while now as I did my undergrad at Guelph as well, but have always commuted to the school. I've decided this year that even with the commute I'm still going to join. I ride anything from cross country to making regular trips to blue mountain for downhill. Looking forward to being part of the club and getting out on some rides.
