Hey Everyone, The 2010 edition of the Inside Ride fundraiser is coming up on 9am, Sunday, March 7th and we want to know who is interested in being part of the 6-person UGC team? We can put in as many teams as we want, and having two teams this year would be pretty cool so don't be shy. What? This is an 'inside bike race' fundraiser, organized by the Coast to Coast Against Cancer Foundation which raises money for cancer research. Each team gets a bike on a trainer with a speedometer that tracks distance and each team member gets 10 minutes on the bike to pile on as much distance as possible. Prizes for distance, spirit, top fundraisers, etc. It's again going to happen in the Science Complex AtriumThe event was very well done last year and we all had a pretty good time. AND we need to mount a proper challenge to the vet team that nipped us last year for first place as well as the Speed River team that are sure to bring some heat. How:Just post here if you're interested, and then using the fundraising link at the bottom of this post gather as many dinars as you can. Easy! Info: -- Specific event information, fund raising page, everything you need: uguelph.theinsideride.com-- General info about organizer: www.coasttocoastagainstcancer.org/Our team (minus Aaron) at last years event: The in list:1. Bayden 2. Carolyn 3. Kent 4. Stu 5. Steph 6. Sarah 7. Flav

Randomly enough we were talking about this in one of my labs today. I'd be interested if there are enough people.

then what's the gameplan? door to door campaign? also does anyone have a chain i could get off them? i wont be getting to the sponsors any time soon and it doesnt have to be new or anything, just a 9speed for my beater road bike!

I have a bunch of used 9 speed chain, still good for a beater though. Might even be some dura ace in it for you. PM me about it.
No you don't have to pay a fee, but like Dana says they want everyone to try and raise $50, however you want. Door to door would work and you could email whoever you think might want to pledge and they can sponsor you in front of their computer if you register on the link in the first post and send them the pledge page.

Alright Flav, do you know anyone else who might want to join? If we're putting in two teams we'll need 5 more ppl unless someone who already signed up drops out.

I'm spearheading another team outside the official purvue of GMBC/UGCC . Because I stink and don't like any of you. at all.
Speed River Bicycle is putting out a team, so flav is welcome should he choose to accept. Team fee is $50 to apply, $50 if you 'make it'. Myself, Thomas, Mike D. Santa clause, Hitler.
Rachel...i'm sending you and FB...clear it with the coach . Coach will say no.

Important updates: 1. Date change to Sunday, March 7th at 9am (it was on the saturday before originally)
2. The italics in mark's post are sarcastic admin-edits brought upon by his attempt to hijack this thread for his own team. His team doesn't have 'fees' and they don't ride with santa or hitler.

Hey Bayden, has our team been put it? I was talking to a friend who is riding with another team who mentioned there are already 30 teams registered and they are going to be closing registration in the next little while.

Yep thanks for checking Carolyn, we are registered. On that note, all team members need to sign up online to the team itself, here: my.e2rm.com/TeamPage.aspx?teamID=143231&langPref=en-CAOnce you've personally registered, direct the people who might sponsor you to your personal pledge page and the ball shall roll!
