Its party time again already - TT season! The semi annual UGC TT will be going on 4:15pm, Tues. March 30th . Meet at the cannon. For newcomers this is a 10km out and back TT on a country road that takes about 45mins to ride out to. Time trial itself takes around 15-17 minutes. Riders will go off on 30 second intervals so its a true individual effort. There will be timing, high probability of skin-suits, and hopefully lots of personal bests! The course is rolling with only one small hill, the only real obstacle is the paaain! No special equipment needed either, unless you're Rachel and you've picked up a TT BIKE specifically for this event to compete with Bayden. (Similarly but on more of a budget, I've tailored my training this off season to peak for a time trial on March 28th with 5-a-day TT practices). Its a pretty big deal. So come on out and get some TT practice in your legs. Last fall's TT group, where Anton busted out the impossible-on-this-course >40km/hr average speed: Post up if you're coming so we don't leave without you!

Haha, indeed-- but for the record, it was not specifically for this event and Bayden... (Well, maybe a little bit...)
Actually, I haven't got it set up/fit yet, so I may not be riding it...

On a Sunday? Crapppp... I was so looking forward to this! I won't be able to make it, I have to play hockey . Something about a league championship and you need your goalie to show up if you want to win... I can't wait for hockey to be over... that's right Sam, I said it! Hockey season should be over.

Hey Rach,if your unable to get your TT bike I may be able to borrow an S2 frame (Race/TT frame that is very aerodynamic and light) if you have a spare groupo to put on it.

Anyways... Sammm,,, winter is officially OVER now by the way (dispite this return to near zero temperatures today) so guess what. Biking season is FULL ON! Take a backseat hockey~! (almost).

Same venue as the last time I was in? I guess I'll have to remember to turn around on time this time eh?. . .

Chris, we will nominate someone to stand after the turn around with a giant rubber mallet. Said mallet will be used to whack riders back the other way if they go too far.

Good, add fear into the equation and I'm sure not to fuck it up yet again. Though if my time is bad (which it likely will be ) I went by it anyways. Just sayin'

@ Boyfruit: According to the look of the lint I just pulled out of my pocket (which is as good a predictor of long term weather as any official forcaster), there is a high probability of palm trees and bathing suits on sunday, so no worries.

I'll wait 'till tomorrow, check the available forecasts, make my own hybrid forecast from the facts available then we'll decide. Still to early to say.

Hey, if anyone else is goal oriented out there (or exquisitely nerdy), here's a chart I whipped up to show you how fast you've gotta go over 10km for a certain time. This course is harder than you'd think, so aim conservatively!
I say this every year, but this year, really... 15:15 for a 39km/hr.
Time (min): Avg. Speed (km/hr) 11.00 54.55 11.50 52.17 12.00 50.00 12.50 48.00 13.00 46.15 13.50 44.44 14.00 42.86 14.50 41.38 15.00 40.00 15.50 38.71 16.00 37.50 16.50 36.36 17.00 35.29 17.50 34.29 18.00 33.33 18.50 32.43 19.00 31.58 19.50 30.77 20.00 30.00 20.50 29.27 21.00 28.57 21.50 27.91 22.00 27.27 22.50 26.67 23.00 26.09 23.50 25.53
And, in the event of rain, is Tuesday afternoon bad for anyone? The rest of the weekends are shot for this (races, holidays, exams, etc), so its gotta be a weekday.
