A handful of us are going but I believe we have a full car. If you can get there we'll be there to cheer you on!

@ Bayden & Anton: Hey...what happened to Tour of Catskills?
Does that mean the other person in the "full car" is ME?!

Catskills is out the window.
Mike, if you're fine with the distance, go for it. but just keep in mind racing 108km is a lot different than riding 108km on your own (as in, a lot harder, even though its faster and with a group)

I was just reading the details of the short course... as if only 27 km wasn't bad enough, "aero bars are permitted"... weak. I'm now confused once again. I haven't been training for a 108km race, but I'd rather DNF (because of a mechanical) then be seen riding in a race with aerobars and hybrid bikes. I've got to think about my image. Suggestions? Maybe I can wear a paper bag on my head?

haha quite a dilema!
Really though, just because aero bars, etc. are permitted doesn't mean they'll be the norm. And anyone on a hybrid will probalby get dropped early anyway by fit folks on road bikes. Judging by the sign up so far (OCA website) there is quite a pack forming in the short course race!
Its choose your own adventure, the races will be completely different, whicever way you go.

I'm thinking of doing the 27km race. As for the paper bag Mike, how about a pair of aviators instead?
