Hey Everyone,
I am doing the Tuesday night series at Kelso. It's excellent training for both technical skills and fitness, a ton of fun, and there are some great raffle prizes up for grabs for all who race. I've got some spare seats, so if you'd like to get in on the action but lack a ride, I can help out with that. Send me a text at any time and we'll arrange it. Each race costs $22.25, park entry and race entry combined. Hope to see you out there.
Dan

Dan id be interested in doing some of these races! Moreso after June when racing on weekends slows down a bit.
Maybe there will be less competition Smyth because of the hike in price and youll win some mediocre freebees!

When you pay for the series in whole, it's $75, or about $7 per race. Some of the raffle prizes are pretty good. I won an air pump last year that offset the cost of about 2 individual races. Also, you can make of day of it by going early in the day and getting a good ride in before the race.

Weather permitting would anyone be down to do this race tomorrow night? Looking for a redemption from a blowout at Albion.
Race starts at 6:45 and registration starts at 5:30 I believe.

A bit of an impulsive thought on my part to do this race this week. Going to rest up for now but will be looking to do race this in a couple weeks for sure!

Get there before 5 for a special surprise. They're demonstrating new 29er Treks. It's a special event week, and you can even race on the demos. I have to run to work now, I'll post up more this evening.

Ok, here are the details.
Race starts shortly after 6:45. They start the kids first, and they take a few minutes to clear the start and get onto their own trail. You must fill out a bunch of paperwork if you haven't raced yet this year. Get there early so you don't miss the start because you couldn't get registered in time.
One of the sponsors, Via Ciclante, has arranged it so Trek will be bringing demo bikes. I believe the bikes will be available for riding starting around 5. It is first come, first served, so get there early. There will be the option to race on the demos. I think you need a piece of ID and a credit card as a security deposit in order to race the bikes though.
If you have a receipt from any of the series' sponsors (MEC Burlington, Brant Cycle, Rock and Road Cycle, a few more listed on the Kelso/Glen Eden website) for $10 or more, you get entered into a special bonus raffle to win extra prizes, on top of the usual weekly raffle. Your receipt also gets a friend of yours into the beginner category for free. It's only one lap of about 6-7km, but it's a free race.
If there are any other questions, post up and I'll do my best to answer them.

If you want to actually race a demo, I'd say get there earlier. There hasn't been fewer than 180-190 riders each race this year, there will certainly be more riders for the special events this week, and there certainly won't be that many demo bikes. There probably won't be any demos left unclaimed for the race by 6.
