Being new to the road, I am curious: where exactly are these places? could someone pinpoint them on a map and upload them somehow?

What about...biking up Gordon hill on your commuter with your bookbag/backpack on? Eh? Eh?

^Haha, that totally is at least equivilant to Grange! @kaylynn-- I propose that one climb is up one side, since most of these climbs only have one side, not two. I added direction of travel for the climb to the notes on map.

Thanks Rach! Haha
Also, are we counting points yet? I totes did Watsonberg once on Saturday and once yesterday. Rach was witness to me coming down the other side yesterday, but you'll have to take my word for Saturday...I won't be accumulating many hill climbs, but dammit I want credit for what little riding I can do! hahaha

Sure, let's say the count retroactively begins last Saturday What do you guys think about requiring a witness? I feel like honour system is fine here-- but we could also do it like the fall where you need a witness. The count so far is: Sammy- 4 points

Is there any way you can put the total at the top like the original thread does?

no, if each climb is worth two, and I dropped on the way up one side, then I went down the other side, back up, down the first side and couldn't stop because of cars, so I had to go back up the first side to get it...that's kinda hard to understand...so I did two extra climbs...

not my fault I have small hands!!! Seriously though, they are like baby hands, if I didn't have short reach leavers I wouldn't be able to break or shift.

Haha, ok. Points are now in the first post. I'd propose that in the future, only the south side of Watsonberg counts, since the north side is smaller... Or maybe the north side is one point? As Aaron & Stu suggested, I'll have a look at elevation profiles sometime in the near future, and make the points correspond to the size of the climb. For this time, Kaylynn gets the points

Do I get points for the mountains I'll be riding in south Carolina for the next 2 weeks?

Well, I plan on getting points for riding up 8km mountains this summer, so I say you should and use your own judgment.

Are arbitrary points really worth having? Using our own judgement removes any comparison and makes this a little....pointless?

not really, because if you are an honest person, you should be able to compare the difficulty. Isn't the point a hill climb tally to "tally" the amount of hill climbs you are doing? So should it not matter where you are doing hills, but matter that you are doing hills? However, I honestly don't really care if I can't get points...

Isn't this just a fun game for the locals after all? otherwise might as well buy an elevation measuring bike computer and record ur own data, if you really need to know how much ur climbing a day....
