Do I get points for the mountains I'll be riding in south Carolina for the next 2 weeks? not really, because if you are an honest person, you should be able to compare the difficulty. Isn't the point a hill climb tally to "tally" the amount of hill climbs you are doing? So should it not matter where you are doing hills, but matter that you are doing hills? However, I honestly don't really care if I can't get points... Absolutely not. It should be significant hills and climbs in the guelph area only. Isn't this just a fun game for the locals after all? otherwise might as well buy an elevation measuring bike computer and record ur own data, if you really need to know how much ur climbing a day.... y'all make me giggle like a little girl. tee hee hee.

I am new to road biking, and have only done the 6th line climb. The description on the map says "less steep..." but the first part is pretty damn vertical to me! How do the other climbs compare? I can't see it getting much worse that the first bit off Campbellville Road :S

Hi Lindsay! Welcome to the club and the forum! I'd say the Guelph Line climb is comparable (or perhaps a little less steep) than 6th line. Rattlesnake and Bell School Line are steeper. And the Watson Rd climbs are a little steep, but pretty short!

Good to know. I should have said I've done all the Watson Road climbs, but since they are short, not too bad. It's the plateau in the middle of the 6th line climb that kills me...and then the golfers staring at the mixed look of pain and accomplishment I am showing when I make it all the way up! I only starting riding in July last year and have just loved it. While I may not be doing loops up and down hills like you wickedly fit riders (I am out there for pure enjoyment ) I am looking forward to improving my skills and meeting other riders in the area! I was out on my own last year, so it will be fun to share the sport with other young people. Nothing against them...but it seems like riding is most popular among the mid-life crisis aged men, haha!

Haha, that's very true about the plateau in the middle of 6th line! This thread may make it sound like everyone does hill reps all the time, but we definitely like going out for social rides too

I rode up a few hills on the gravel shoulder, does that count? Or does it have to be asphalt?

I'm thinking about hitting up Watson again this weekend at some point. I work 9-5 Saturday and Sunday. Would anyone be interested in some repeats either before 9 or after 5 this weekend?
