Hi Sasha, the girls go out from time to time at a more reasonable pace.

and the guys do as well sometimes. Ever ridden down from town? You could post your own ride someday and dictate the pace all you want!

Hello I am Chris: I just moved to Guelph and I love MTB. I just wanted company on the many great rides in this area and to make friends in the process. I ride to enjoy.. not to race.. I am from the Caribbean. Nice to meet you! Chris

Hey Chris,
Welcome to the club. Being new to Guelph have you been able to check out any of the local trails? If not, check out the mtb section of the forum. I just updated it to include maps TO the trails.
See you out there! Bayden

Hey everyone,
I'm Frankie and i'm going into my last year in Biochemistry. For the last two years I've participated in the Ride to Conquer Cancer and i've officially signed up for 2011. I bought my first rode bike this weekend and would love to get some tips and start training the 'right' way. I've never used a rode bike before so this is pretty new to me!

Hey Frankie,
Happy day for you, a new road bike! Come out to the social ride on fridays with your new bike (see the post in the road section of the forum) - easier to meet people there than on a training ride and there's been pretty huge turnout on those rides. Feel free to toss any questions you might have at us on the rides or on the forum too.
How long is the ride to conquer canser that you do?

Hey,
The Ride to Conquer Cancer is approx 200km ride from Toronto to Niagara Falls. You also have the option of doing a 200 mile ride instead. It's an awesome event and everything raised goes directly to the Campbell Institute at the Princess Margaret.

Hey gang, I'm Laura. Although I'm a skier at heart, I bought a roadie last summer and have become addicted to spinning 'dem skinny tires! I am interested in diversifying my cycling profile (i.e. trying some mountain), but I'm a pretty big rookie in that field!
Racing? Hummm, willing, maybe able, haven't tried!

I'm sorry, but we have strict 'no laura' policy in this club. Its in the manifesto.
However we're willing to make this one exception. And yes we'll get you racing in no time! you can definitely do it! We should talk, I'll hook you up. *elbow vein tap tap*.

don't listen to bayden. there is a club council approval that must accompany any exceptions to the no laura policy.

Hey, my name is Alex Ciccone- going into my first year at Guelph. I ride road in summer, MTB all winter long- where I come from, that means -40 rides. I race tri's. I'm vegan, I don't preach, get used to it Looking forward to taking the wheel of those whom are faster than me! Kidding, I play fair.

Hey Alex,
Welcome to the club. Hardcore, when it's -40, I rarely get out of bed, much less go outside.
Awesome about the vegan thing. I went vegan for a month once and put articles in the Ontarion about it. One of the hardest and most rewarding things I ever tried.
Check out the ride section and come out as soon as you can.

Hey all, I'm Lindsey. I've shown up at a few events this summer but (characteristically) am only just getting around to making my forum debut. Better late than never...
Nordic Skiing is my first love but I bought a road bike this spring as an alternative to pounding the pavement and I've decided there's always some space in my heart for another sport.
Hoping to keep on riding a bit into the fall and maybe try some racing (road &/or triathlon) next year!

Right on great to hear someone finding a new interest in cycling. Are you on the varsity nordic team?

Yup I'm on the team. Laura was saying one of the cyclists lives with Jordan and Erin... you possibly? As for racing this fall, if someone just leaned on Laura just a little bit more I think you could probably add a member to your team. She's already teetering on the edge, she just needs a gentle push.

Yeah I'm the guy that lives with Erin and Jordan, I wanna try to bring our two communities and teams together, cyclists can learn lots from skiers.

Morgan seems to bring up a good point. Maybe. Th reason I don't know and can't answer and am never confused is because I only look at the last post on the forum. Cheers for good leadership.
