Hello Everyone,
I'm Bryan, a first year MLA student and new to Guelph. I love cycling in general and at the moment I'm only doing Road biking. I have no experience at MTB, but would love to do it someday.
I've done pretty much all the trails in Toronto and I've been exploring what Guelph has to offer on my road bike.

Hey everyone, My name is Lindsay and I'm a newbie road biker here! I'm from a small town just North of Newmarket called Sharon, where there are plenty of long roads! For years now I have rode for fun and exercise, but have little to no experience with events and races. I'm hoping to meet some new people to ride with and learn from

Hey everyone! I've been an avid biker for about 3 years now. I'm restricted to road rides because of my bike, but when the sun starts shining and the roads are clear you bet that I'll be definite company on the streets. Can't wait to get rolling Rina

Hello everyone!
I'm Mike. I'm from a town north of Barrie called Oro Medonte. I used to race recreational MTB at Hardwood Hills. I recently purchased my first road bike and am itching to get out for the first ride. Looking forward to meeting everyone and participating in some races this year!

Hi, my name is Guilherme, I'm an international student from Brazil staying here for one year, I used to compete in downhill and did some urban assault also. Currently I am recovering from an ACL tear but I'm good enough to start riding. My aim is to change from DH to all mountain and my favourite riding style is technical single track. I'm a fourth year Environmental Engineering student.

Hey Guilherme, welcome to the club. That's rough about your ACL, but glad to hear you're good to ride again. There are plenty of good technical trails in the area. Keep your eyes on the forum, as once the trails dry out, we'll have rides going out all the time. Hope to see you on the trails!

Hey Laura!
That sounds great. We've had one or two members in the past who have been competitive horseback riders, not sure about at the national level though. Sounds like you're no stranger to athletics and competition! And I'm sure you'd love to help us beat your brother and sister this season.
There will be more rides as the weather finally heats up and all this snow is gone. Currently there tend to be a couple here and there, mostly on the weekend, and there will be people around for the summer if you're staying around and need people to ride with.
Looking forward to meeting you, and welcome to the club!
-Matt
P.s. Make sure you check back often as there is always something going on in the forums and new rides posted all the time.

Laura, So great to see another (horse) rider on here who loves bikes too!!! Don't let the guys tease you too much about the horse thing though I'm back from florida and am working the A circuit this summer again so I'll definitely be around at some of the same shows. I love to bike after work so lemme know if you want to join!! I'm at angelstone this week (which means Guelph Lake biking) but I hit up Albion or the Palgrave conservation area trails after the Palgrave shows. Love to see you out! - Inara

Good-day!
My name is Chelsey and I am new to the cycling world, bought a bike back April, but I have grown to love and understand cycling and have now become obsessed with riding.
Looking forward to learning more from everyone! I am going into my Fourth year as a Nutrition and Nutraceutical Sciences Major and have been really shy at trying new things until now!
I live up North and have been loving the scenery on my rides but am excited to explore Guelph!

I'd say welcome to you Ralitza, but I see you all the time, haha. Hey Chelsey, it's good to see another new rider, and we all know it's super addicting! Come out to social events & get to know everyone, and go on some group rides that are posted on here. (There's a lot more posts in the fall, when everyone's in Guelph again). Have you been hitting the road or trails?

Hi Leslie,
I've been hitting the roads as my bike is limited to road cycling. I have been considering also getting a hybrid for all terrain, as I am sure I will love it just as much! I am so excited to be back in Guelph and I will definitely participate in the group rides! I am excited!

If you want something that's efficient on the trail & road, I would go with dual sport (more rugged tires & front suspension, compared to a hybrid, which has a rigid fork & pretty slick tires). However, since you've already got a roadie and are possibly considering a 2nd bike, I'd say go with a mountain bike! I work at Speed River Bicycle in Guelph - if you pop in I could help you out!

Sounds good! Yeah, I am really new with all of the biking slang and stuff! Getting familiar with hours of google searches haha. I am moving back to Guelph for the school year in September, so I am sure you will see me at Speed River eventually, probably sooner than later haha!

Hey Everyone! I'm also new, so here's my story: My name is Gillian, I'm from Midland, Ontario, and I'm going into second year at Guelph studying geography.
I've been mountain biking for about 2 years now and I've done a few beginner and sport O Cups recently. I'm really looking forward to continuing to ride in the fall, and doing some racing with the Guelph club! :)I didn't really get out riding at all last year, so it'd be great to get a tour of some of the local trails from a more experienced club member!
